Roosevelt Campobello International Park

Roosevelt Campobello << ROH zuh vehlt `kam` puh BEHL `oh` >> International Park covers about 2,800 acres (1,100 hectares) on Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. The summer home of United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt is in the park. Roosevelt’s family often spent vacations there. He was stricken with poliomyelitis on the island in 1921. The United States and Canada dedicated the park in 1964. A joint U.S.-Canadian commission administers it. The Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Bridge connects the island and Lubec, Maine.
