Ruble

Ruble << ROO buhl >>, also spelled rouble, is the monetary unit of Russia and Belarus. Tajikistan used the ruble until 2001, when the country replaced it with a new currency, the somoni. Russia and Belarus determine the value of the ruble in their countries independently of each other. The Russian ruble and the Belarusian ruble are divided into 100 kopecks (also spelled copecks). The Tajik ruble was divided into 100 tanga. Currency in circulation in Russia includes treasury notes (paper money) and coins. Treasury notes are available in various ruble denominations. Coins are issued in several small denominations of rubles and in various denominations of kopecks.
