Saint James’s Palace is a royal mansion in London, England. It stands in Westminster, north of the Mall. King Henry VIII built the palace in 1532. It served as the official London residence of the British sovereign until 1837, when Queen Victoria moved the royal residence to Buckingham Palace. Saint James’s now contains royal offices and residences for several members of the royal family.
