South Pacific Games

South Pacific Games are open to male and female athletes from all the countries and islands of the South Pacific area except Australia and New Zealand. Athletes from most major island groups take part in track and field and more than a dozen other sports at the games. The first games were held in Fiji in 1963. The games are held every four years at different sites in the South Pacific. Since 1981, a separate competition called the South Pacific Mini-Games has been held every four years.
