SRI International is a nonprofit, independent contract research organization. It performs basic and applied research for industry, government, and the public. Its staff provides research services in many subject areas, including economics, electronics, engineering, management, the physical and biological sciences, and urban and social systems. SRI International was founded in 1946 as the Stanford Research Institute. Headquarters are in Menlo Park, California.
