Sulu << SOO loo >> Sea lies between the Philippines and Borneo. It is also called the Sea of Mindoro. The Sulu Sea is surrounded by the Visayan Islands on the northeast, the island of Palawan on the northwest, Borneo on the southwest, and the Sulu Archipelago and the island of Mindanao on the southeast. The sea has an average depth of 14,600 feet (4,450 meters).
