Tansy

Tansy, << TAN zee, >> is a flower that produces small, bright yellow blooms. The tansy first grew in Europe but is now found throughout North America. It is usually grown in gardens, but it also grows wild. The leaves and flowers of the tansy have a bitter taste and a strong odor. People once used the leaves in flavoring. These dark green leaves give off an oil which is known as oil of tansy. This oil is poisonous, but it is used in some medicines.
