Tasman Sea

Tasman << TAZ muhn >> Sea is that part of the Pacific Ocean which lies between southeastern Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. It covers about 900,000 square miles (2,300,000 square kilometers). A communications cable on the seabed links Australia and New Zealand. The Dutch navigator Abel Janszoon Tasman reached the sea in the mid-1600’s.
