Tedder, Arthur William

Tedder, Arthur William (1890-1967), Baron Tedder of Glenguin, became a marshal of the Royal Air Force of Britain in 1945. Tedder was deputy supreme commander to General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the supreme Allied commander, in World War II (1939-1945). He later became deputy supreme commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces in Europe. Tedder was born on July 11, 1890, in Stirlingshire (now Central Region), Scotland. He died on June 3, 1967.
