Tritium

Tritium, << TRIHT ee uhm, >> is a hydrogen isotope used in the release of nuclear energy through fusion, as in the hydrogen bomb. It is three times as heavy as ordinary hydrogen. The name tritium comes from the Latin tri, meaning three. Tritium decays to form helium; half decays in about 12.3 years. See also Hydrogen ; Nuclear weapon (Thermonuclear weapons) .
