Yalu River

Yalu << YAH LOO >> River rises from the highest peak of the Changbai Shan, or Long White Mountains, in northeastern China. It forms most of the boundary between China and North Korea. It flows 490 miles (789 kilometers) to the Yellow Sea. It provides hydroelectric power and transportation for lumber and other products. Chinese troops crossed it during the Korean War (1950-1953) to aid North Korea.
