Maryland Day is a holiday that is observed on March 25 in the state of Maryland. The holiday commemorates the first Roman Catholic Mass colonists celebrated when they landed in 1634. The first action of the colonists after landing on the shores of St. Clements Island in the Potomac River was to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation.
