National Association for the Education of Young Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving professional care and education of children through age 8. The association also works to build public understanding and support for high-quality early childhood services.
The association publishes two bimonthly journals, Young Children and Teaching Young Children, on current practices and issues related to early childhood education. The association also publishes the scholarly Early Childhood Research Quarterly. It hosts an annual conference and sponsors the national Week of the Young Child, a public education campaign. The association was founded in 1926. Its headquarters are in Washington, D.C.
