Sintering is the process of making solid metal parts from powdered metals. The powdered metals are first pressed together in a die. Then they are heated in a furnace at a high temperature that is below the melting point of the powders. The particles sinter (bond) to each other. The gaps between the powders shrink, forming a strong metal part.
