Rodzinski, Artur

Rodzinski, << roh JIHN skih, >> Artur (1894-1958), was a well-known American orchestra conductor. He directed major orchestras in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, and New York. He also served as the guest conductor of many other important orchestras.

Rodzinski was born in Split, then part of Austria-Hungary, now in Croatia. He came to the United States in 1926. From 1943 to 1947, he conducted the New York Philharmonic.
