Ditmars, Raymond Lee

Ditmars, << DIHT mahrz, >> Raymond Lee (1876-1942), was a noted American authority on reptiles. His popular books included The Reptile Book (1907) and Reptiles of the World (1910). He became curator of reptiles at the New York Zoological Park in 1899, and remained at the park until his death. He pioneered in developing snake-bite serums, which have saved many lives. Ditmars was born in Newark, New Jersey.
