Jeans, Sir James Hopwood

Jeans, Sir James Hopwood (1877-1946), contributed to the understanding of the behavior of molecules, especially to the kinetic molecular theory . He also suggested a theory of the creation of the universe. He became known for interpreting the results of research in a clear style. He wrote The Dynamic Theory of Gases (1904) and Problems of Cosmogony and Stellar Dynamics (1919).

Jeans was born in London. He graduated from Cambridge University.
