Fry, Franklin Clark (1900-1968), was one of the most prominent Lutheran clergymen in the United States. He became president of the United Lutheran Church of America in 1945 and of the Lutheran World Federation in 1957. After 1954, he served as chairman of the central committee of the World Council of Churches. Fry was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 30, 1900. He died on June 6, 1968.
