Maytag, Frederick Louis

Maytag, Frederick Louis (1857-1937), was an American businessman. He founded the Maytag Company, and built it into one of the world’s largest washing machine manufacturers. Maytag was the first budget director for the state of Iowa, and served in the Iowa Senate for 10 years. He was born in Elgin, Illinois.
