Ursula, << UR suh luh, >> Saint, is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. According to legend, Ursula was a young woman from Britain who was martyred together with 11,000 young female companions. To martyr someone means to kill or hurt that person because of his or her beliefs. Huns attacked the women at Cologne as they were returning from a pilgrimage (religious journey) to Rome. The Huns killed the women because of their faith. Saint Ursula’s feast day is October 21.
