Warren, Charles (1868-1954), an American lawyer, gained fame for his definitive historical books on the Supreme Court of the United States and on the American bar. He wrote A History of the American Bar (1911) and won the 1923 Pulitzer Prize in history for his three-volume The Supreme Court in United States History (1922). Warren served as assistant attorney general of the United States under President Woodrow Wilson. Warren was born in Boston.
