Grey, Edward (1862-1933), Viscount Grey of Fallodon, was a British diplomat and statesman. As foreign minister from 1905 to 1916, Grey led efforts to avoid the outbreak of World War I. He consolidated the Triple Entente, which allied Great Britain with France and Russia. At the London peace conference in 1912, Grey led the discussion of Balkan problems, and was largely responsible for the decision to form the country of Albania. After World War I, he actively supported the League of Nations. He was born in Northumberland.
