Arden, Forest of, is a region in west-central England. The Forest of Arden is about 20 miles (30 kilometers) long and 12 miles (20 kilometers) wide. It extends from Stratford-upon-Avon northward toward Birmingham. The region, which was once extensively wooded, is believed to be the setting of Shakespeare’s play As You Like It.
