Atherton Tableland is an area of high, flat land in northeastern Queensland, Australia. Farmers grow coffee, corn, peanuts, potatoes, sugar cane, and various fruits and vegetables. Other farmers keep dairy cattle in the more rugged southern district.
The tableland rises gradually to the east and southeast, where Mount Bartle Frere, 5,322 feet (1,622 meters) high, forms the highest point in Queensland. Tourist attractions include the Tinaroo Falls Dam and Lakes Barrine and Eacham.
