Boomslang is an African snake that lies in wait for its prey in trees and bushes. Its body is well camouflaged. The front part of its body is often held out from the tree. In this position it looks like a dead branch. The boomslang preys mainly on chameleons and birds. Its bite is extremely venomous and can kill a human being. The boomslang lives in savanna country south of the Sahara.
