Brisbane River rises in the hills and ranges about 60 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of the city of Brisbane, Australia. Its major tributaries are the Stanley River, Lockyer Creek, Warrill Creek, and the Bremer River. The Brisbane River flows south through the Esk rift valley to Moreton Bay. The river is about 200 miles (320 kilometers) long.
