Calceolaria, also called slipperwort, is a plant with round or pouch-shaped flowers, generally brightly colored. Hundreds of species grow wild in Central and South America. Smaller species are grown in rock gardens. Larger calceolarias are planted in flower beds or grown in greenhouses and conservatories. Many species have yellow flowers, splotched with brown, orange, or red.
