Crotalaria is any one of a large group of plants of the pea family that grow in tropical countries. Crotalarias are small herbs or shrubs that have yellow flowers. The plants bear compound leaves that generally have three leaflets, as do clover leaves. A kind of crotalaria called sunn hemp is grown for its fibers. The fiber is used to make canvas, rope, and fishing nets.
