Feathertail glider, also called the pygmy glider, is the world’s smallest gliding mammal. Its body is only about 2 3/4 inches (7 centimeters) long. It has gliding membranes between its front and hind legs. It also has a featherlike tail. The feathertail glider is a marsupial. It is common in the eucalyptus forests of eastern Australia, but it is rarely seen because it comes out only at night.
