Gower Peninsula is a peninsula on the southern coast of Wales. It is also known as the Gwyr Peninsula. The peninsula is 15 miles (24 kilometers) long, and has an average width of 5 miles (8 kilometers). Its coastline is rocky and deeply indented, with sandy beaches at Mumbles. Swansea airport is situated on the peninsula.
