Hereford is a historic city in the county of Herefordshire, England. The city stands on the River Wye. It has a cathedral built mainly in the Norman and Decorated style. The cathedral features carved stalls, a medieval map of the world, and King Stephen’s chair, made in the 1100’s. The Bishop’s Palace has a timbered hall, built in the 1100’s. The Three Choirs Festival is held in Hereford every third year. Hereford is part of a local government area called the County of Herefordshire Unitary Authority, which has a population of 187,034.
