Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is a resort of natural beauty on the northern coast of Jamaica. It lies approximately 60 miles (100 kilometers) east of Montego Bay. Previously a fishing village, Ocho Rios began to develop as a tourist destination in the mid-1900’s. Today, it boasts beaches, markets, shops, restaurants, hotels, and other recreational facilities. Areas of interest nearby include Fern Gully, a former riverbed that winds through lush tropical vegetation; Roaring River Falls; Dunn’s River Falls; Dolphin Cove; and two working plantations.
