Tahr

Tahr is the name of three species of goatlike antelopes. They have backward-curving horns and hoofed feet. They also have very thick, shaggy coats. Tahrs feed on grass and other plants. The Himalayan tahr is the largest species. It is about 5 feet 8 inches (1.7 meters) long, and weighs more than 220 pounds (100 kilograms). The Nilgiri tahr of southern India has a dark-colored coat. The male has a silver saddle patch on its back. The Arabian tahr of Oman is the smallest species. It has a brown coat.
