Wombeyan Caves are limestone caves in the southern highlands of New South Wales, Australia. They are about 76 miles (122 kilometers) southwest of Sydney and about 35 miles (56 kilometers) north of Goulburn. The caves are noted for their beautiful limestone formations. Five caves—Fig Tree, Junction, Kooringa, Mulwaree, and Wollondilly—are open to the public. Geologists claim that the caves were once part of a coral atoll. Pressure and heat converted the coral into yellow-veined marble.
