Andrews University

Andrews University is a private, Christian institution of higher learning in Berrien Springs, Michigan. It is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1874, the church founded the university as Battle Creek College, in Battle Creek, Michigan. The school moved to Berrien Springs in 1901 and was renamed Emmanuel Missionary College. In 1959, Potomac University’s Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary and School of Graduate Studies moved to the campus of Emmanuel Missionary College. The university adopted its present name in 1960 when the three institutions united. The university is named for John Nevins Andrews, a Seventh-day Adventist missionary pioneer.
