Bowling Green State University

Bowling Green State University is a state institution of higher learning in Bowling Green, Ohio. The university, often called BGSU, offers numerous undergraduate, master’s, specialist, and doctoral degrees in a wide variety of fields. In addition to its main campus, the university has a regional campus, BGSU Firelands, in Huron, Ohio.

Bowling Green was founded in 1910 as a state teacher training college. It became a four-year college in 1929. Bowling Green became a university in 1935, when it began to offer graduate classes and established its College of Business Administration. The Department of Popular Culture, established in 1973, is an internationally recognized center for the scholarly study of popular literature, motion pictures, television, music, and other forms of culture.
