Cleveland State University

Cleveland State University is an institution of higher learning in Cleveland. The Ohio General Assembly established Cleveland State University in 1964. The university took over the faculty, student body, and buildings of Fenn College in downtown Cleveland. The university added the College of Education in 1966. In 1969, it took over the Cleveland-Marshall School (now College) of Law, the largest law school in Ohio. The law college had been founded in 1897 as the Cleveland Law School and merged with the John Marshall School of Law in 1946. In 1977, Cleveland State University added the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs.
