Drexel University is a private educational institution in Philadelphia. It was founded as the Drexel Institute of Arts, Science and Industry in 1891 by financier Anthony J. Drexel. Its name was changed to the Drexel Institute of Technology in 1936 and to Drexel University in 1969. Its sports teams are nicknamed the Dragons.
