Loma Linda University is a health sciences university in Loma Linda, California, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The university was founded in 1905 and included a sanitarium, which was replaced by Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1967. The center is particularly well-known for infant heart transplantation and proton treatments for cancer. In 1993, Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital opened. The university also operates the Loma Linda University Community Medical Center and the Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center.
