Ballymoney

Ballymoney is a town in the northern part of Northern Ireland. It lies in a mainly agricultural area in the valley of the River Bann. Ballymoney’s annual drama festival is one of the most important on the island of Ireland.

Ballymoney was long governed as part of historic County Antrim. The county ceased to be an administrative area in 1973. From 1973 to 2015, Ballymoney was the name of a district council area centered on the town of Ballymoney. In 2015, the Ballymoney district was joined with the Coleraine, Limavady, and Moyle districts to form the Causeway Coast and Glens local government district.
