Bearsden and Milngavie is a local government area in Strathclyde Region, Scotland. The area takes its name from its two main towns. Both Bearsden and Milngavie have many residents who commute to Glasgow to work. Bearsden was a small village until it was connected by rail to Glasgow in the 1860’s. The link to Glasgow helped Bearsden to grow. Milngavie is at the foot of hills known as the Campsie Fells. See also Strathclyde Region .
