Calderdale

Calderdale (pop. 206,631) is a local government area in West Yorkshire Metropolitan County. The area is administered from the town of Halifax. The area is known for its textile manufacturing. Factories in Halifax also produce machine tools and candies. Industries in the town of Brighouse include chemicals, electronics, and engineering. Other towns in the area include Elland, Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall, Ripponden, and Todmorden. Farming is the main rural industry.
