Daniel, Glyn

Daniel, Glyn (1914-1986), was a British professor and historian of archaeology. He was renowned as an expert on the prehistoric period of Britain and Western Europe. He was an authority on chamber tombs and megaliths (large stone monuments) of the Neolithic Era (New Stone Age). His many publications include such books as The Megalith Builders of Western Europe (1958).

Glyn Edmund Daniel was born in South Wales on April 23, 1914. He studied at University College, Cardiff, and St. John’s College, Cambridge University. He taught at St. John’s College from 1938 to 1981. He died on Dec. 13, 1986.
