Devoy, Susan

Devoy, Susan (1964-…), a New Zealand squash champion, was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. She won the British Open Squash Championship for seven consecutive years, from 1984 to 1990, and again in 1992. She also won the world championships four times. She retired from international competition in 1992. Devoy was born on Jan. 4, 1964, in Rotorua, New Zealand. In 1998, she was made a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, one of the nation’s highest civilian honors.
