Hill, Damon (1960-…) is a British Formula One automobile-racing driver. Driving for the Williams-Renault team, he became world champion in 1996, but his contract with the team had been terminated before he won the title.
Hill was born on Sept. 17, 1960, in Hampstead, London, the son of racing driver Graham Hill. He entered Formula One racing as a test driver for Williams in 1991. In 1993, having competed in only two races, he replaced Nigel Mansell in the Williams team. Third in the world championship at his first attempt in 1993, Hill was runner-up to Michael Schumacher of Germany in 1994 and 1995.
