Jahangir Khan (1963-…), a Pakistani squash player, became world champion in the 1980’s. In 1990, Jahangir won the British Open Championship for the ninth time. This record beat Australian Geoff Hunt’s men’s record of 8 championships. Jahangir Khan also won six World Open Championships.
Jahangir Khan was born on Dec. 10, 1963, in Karachi, Pakistan. His father, Roshan Khan, won the 1956 British Open Squash Championship. Jahangir took up the sport at the age of 10. In 1979, at the age of 15, he won the World Amateur Championship. In 1981, he won the World Open Championships, although he was only 17.
