Solihull (pop. 216,240) is a district in West Midlands Metropolitan County, England. The town of Solihull, a residential area, lies about 6 miles (10 kilometers) southeast of Birmingham. It has a number of industrial sites and some large commercial offices. But many of Solihull’s inhabitants travel to Birmingham or elsewhere to work. The area includes a large amount of green belt (land protected from development). Birmingham International Airport and the National Exhibition Centre are both in Solihull. See also West Midlands.
