Warrington

Warrington (pop. 210,974) is a local government area in western England. It is a unitary authority, the primary unit of local government in the United Kingdom. The River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal pass through the district. The town of Warrington has a range of industries, including brewing, chemical production, distribution, and nuclear power engineering. In the 1960’s and 1970’s, it was developed as a new town (region of rapid development). See also Cheshire.
