Westminster, City of (pop. 204,300), is a borough in Greater London. The borough includes the areas of Paddington and Marylebone, as well as the local area called Westminster.
The City of Westminster contains many of London’s best-known streets and buildings. For example, it includes most of the shops and theaters of London’s West End. The Houses of Parliament and most government offices are in Westminster. It also contains Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Palace, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, the National and Tate Britain galleries, the Royal Courts of Justice, and the Royal Albert Hall.
