Adams State University is a state institution of higher learning in Alamosa, Colorado. The school is in a mountainous valley, the San Luis Valley. It was founded as a teacher’s college in 1925. It was named after William H. Adams, a Colorado political leader who later became governor. The school’s athletic teams are called the Grizzlies.
